Library of congress.jpgYou might want to start editing your loose-talking tweets on Twitter, as the US Library of Congress have just announced plans to archive every public tweet, ever!

The largest library in the world, the Library of Congress archives data of all types. Until recently, this had been in the majority made up of printed texts, but now the vast collection is increasingly adding digital assets to its knowledge banks too.

It’s still unclear what exact Twitter data will be mined, such as list and follow details. It’s also still to be determined how access to the archived stream will be made, be it manually or via a web log-in.

Either way, there’s going to be a ton of stuff to trawl through, making dusty old tomes not the only draw to the Library.

Read more about the plans on the Twitter blog.
