Crytek's next games engine to have 3D support

Crytek’s last CryEngine, the force that drove the graphical powerhouse that was Crysis, still remains the high-watermark for PC graphics. Crytek’s latest announcement that their new CryEngine 3 is going to be fully 3D compatible, should have you PC gamers nice and worked up then.

The engine will power the sequel Crysis 2. As you may be aware, Crysis 2 is going multi-platform, and so (yep, you guessed it) the CryEngine 3 will deliver 3D compatible graphics to the PS3 and Xbox 360 too, if developers so desire.

Expect the first footage of this excting new development to be showcased at this month’s Game Developers Conference.
