Xbox Live/WinMo crossover on the cards?

xbox live phone.jpgTwo job postings found on Microsoft’s careers website have dropped major hints that Xbox Live integration is on its way to Windows Mobile 7 enabled phones.

Though few details on the project have been released so far, the post (which has apparently been filled already) requires “…a Principle Program Manager who can help drive the platform and bring Xbox LIVE enabled games to Windows Mobile. This person will focus specifically on what makes gaming experiences ‘LIVE Enabled’ through aspects such as avatar integration, social interactions, and multi-screen experiences.”

Another posting searching for someone who “knows what it means to develop high quality software in a challenging, complex eco-system”, further proves that there’s certain to be a focus on gaming this time around for the Microsoft mobile platform.

This candidate will “report to the Gaming Test Lead in the Windows Mobile Entertainment team and have the opportunity to make a critical impact on the next release of Windows Mobile.”

We already knew that WinMo 7 was going to have a greater focus on gaming, but could this mean our Xbox Live avatars will be jumping around our handsets? Will we be able to set up a quick match of FIFA or Modern Warfare directly via a text message, or (gasp!) perhaps even some remote play as with the PS3/PSP systems?
