woolie-xbox-360-cuts.jpgFollowing hot on the heels of similar price cuts in the US and Japan, it’s being rumoured that the UK will see a cut in the price of Microsoft’s flagship console, the Xbox 360. Engadget have been sent a scan of a forthcoming Woolies catalogue which shows £30 being cut off the price of each model.

That price cut will see the Arcade model drop from £160 to £130, the Premium from £200 to £170 and the Elite from £260 to £230. The aforementioned price cuts across the pond have led to huge increases in sales, so perhaps Microsoft are hoping to see similar increases in the UK. I wouldn’t be surprised if it did.

Of course, take this with a pinch of salt. It’s just a catalogue scan – it hasn’t been confirmed. It would be very easy to Photoshop that price into something radically different. It’s most likely the Christmas catalogue, so expect to see the change in a month or so, as the retailers kick into gear for the big shopping season. Also, remember that this just applies to Woolies for the moment. I’d expect to see other retailers follow suit fairly quickly, though.
