InFocus has announced the IN80 high definition projector, able to project a full 1080p image up to four metres diagonal, and with a fairly attractive price to boot.

Specifications and price place the IN80 somewhere between the X10 (launched a couple of months ago) and last year’s IN80 and IN81 projectors (which HDTVUK announced).

That means Texas Instruments’ popular DLP DarkChip system with BrilliantColor, full 1080p processing, a 2,500:1 native contrast ratio which can be boosted to 7,500:1 using the iris, 1,300 ANSI lumens of brightness, integrated Pixelworks DNX 10-bit video processing, and two HDMI inputs.

Set up has been made easy thanks to automatic colour gamut and black level calibration, plus a digital vertical lens shift and digital keystone correction for greater flexibility when installing the projector. Those needing more control can use InFocus’s Colour Gamut Calibrator and ISF Day & Night presets.

Available from September for £1,299.
