Fanboy makes it into Merriam-Webster dictionary

Hot on the heels of w00t! being voted “Word of the Year” comes news that “fanboy” has made it into the print version of the Merriam-Webster dictionary, along with 100 other words.
Though it is used extensively online, often as an insult, to denote someone who is excessively devoted to a particular company, product, game, or service, the word has been observed since 1919, and is now defined by the dictionary as “boy who is an enthusiastic devotee, such as of comics or movies.”
Other tech words which are much newer inventions include webinar, malware, and netroots.
What about fangirl?
