I’m not entirely sure I’m ready for Blu-Rays at all at the moment but Hitachi say I am, so much so that they’re trying to get me really excited with their new Blu-Ray recorder by calling it a Wooo! I’m still not convinced.

The Wooo DV BH250 works as a hard disk recorder too with up to 250GB of space, it has an HDMI output and it’ll even compress the HD signal with AVCREC so that you can record onto normal DVDs as well.

It’s of little surprise that the Wooo is destined for the Japanese market in June with no plans for a UK release. Even if it does come our way, £20 says they’ll have renamed it for us Gaijin.
