49-year-old mother Lori Drew allegedly created a fake MySpace account under the pretence of being a 16-year-old boy. Lori is alleged to have then befriended 13-year-old neighbour Megan Meier while pretending to be the boy, formed an online relationship with her, then dumped her – telling the girl the world would be better off without her.

Poor Megan, who had been the victim of bullying at school previously, killed herself a few hours after reading the message from pretend boy “Josh Evans.” This was apparently all done because Megan had an argument with Lori’s daughter. Lori Drew, should she be found guilty, faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in jail.
