Gresso White Diamond mobiles – 'bling' doesn't even come close

I’ve seen some expensive mobile phones in my time but this one takes the biscuit, the cup and the whole damn tea set. This is the Gresso White Diamond mobile and the Gresso Royal Diamond phone and I’ll give you just the one guess as to what they’re covered in seeing as there’s no such thing as a Gresso.

This handset is made of 200-year-old African blackwood and sports a titanium backed keypad where all the magic happens. The QVGA screens are covered in 42K sapphire crystal glass and each of the keys are 18K solid gold but you probably won’t notice that because they’re covered in white diamonds. Of course they are.

The real disappointment is that the magnetically locking battery cover is only made of stainless steel. Stainless steel? That would hurt the hands of the kind of people that can afford these $52,000 phones. They should have made it out of white rhino horn, dodo tears or unicorn scrotum.

The worst part of all though is that it’s only got a 2-megapixel camera. I don’t know, these people. It probably doesn’t do text either.

  • Excellent read, I just passed this onto a colleague who was doing a little research on that. And he actually bought me lunch because I found it for him smile So let me rephrase that: Thanks for lunch!
