zattoo_logo.pngZattoo has announced that its online live TV streaming service has launched in the UK, and offers access to the five main terrestrial channels (BBC1, BBC2, ITV1, Channel 4, and Five), as well as some of the others (BBC Three, BBC Four, CBeebies, CBBC, ABC News Now, Bloomberg UK, and so on).

There are currently 23 channels available in the UK, and they all stream live from one player which can be downloaded for Windows XP / Vista, OS X, and Linux. The software includes an EPG and channel listing making it easy to switch between channels, and the delay is minimal presuming you have a decent broadband connection.

The service won’t help you catch up with missed programmes, and the quality isn’t quite as high as if you were watching via a TV tuner card, but it’s free and is great if you just want to catch up on the odd programme here and there, but don’t have easy access to a TV.

I wonder how many workplaces will block Zattoo?
