Honda_walking_assist.jpgPoor old walking is on the decline. Sitting down has enjoyed a massive period of growth over recent decades, relegating walking to the preserve of people whose cars have broken and the poor who can’t afford cars in the first place.

Well, walking’s about to strike back!

Just revealed by boffins at Honda is this – the Walking Assist Device. A simple mechanical gadget that supports your body weight while taking some of the strain off your knees and leg muscles that have been weakened by (a) the ravages of time, or (b) sitting at a PC for 18 hours a day.

The Walking Assist Device is mainly designed for old people and those with health problems, but wear a baggy enough pair of trousers and you’ll get away with it and make it to Sainsbury’s in record time.
