Dell bamboo case eco-computer: full of old bottles, milk jugs and detergent cases

This is the greenest computer since sliced bread with microchips in it.

According to an announcement from Mr Michael Dell himself, this never before seen, eco-inspired, bamboo case PC uses 70% less power than an ordinary computer and is 81% smaller than a standard desktop, about the same size as an external hard drive. It looks pretty too.

I’m slightly concerned that it uses 70% less power because it’s 70% less powerful and I’m more than a little worried about the fact that its innards are “filled with recycled materials like old bottles, milk jugs and detergent cases”.

Do these household cast-offs play a part in the workings of this machine or are they just there to make it green and sound shaky when you pick it up?

Assuming my cynicism is unfounded, and why not, this is bloody excellent. They’re set to launch later this year for between US$500-US$700 and I see no reason why they shouldn’t go like hot cakes to a market of cold, hungry people.
