bbcthree.jpgThe BBC’s decision to turn BBC Three into some kind of web 2.0 hybrid is already pulling in viewers from the younger end of the market – claims the BBC.

One month in and audience share amongst 16-34s over the last month was 3.9% – a 44% rise from exactly the same time last year and the highest share for 16-34s amongst all digital channels. The weekly reach to 16-34s is up to 4.5 million, a 33% increase year-on-year. And according to the Beeb, 41% of the audience are now aged 16-34, up by 14% year-on-year.

And it’s apparently web-friendly too – one fifth of all the top 50 BBC iPlayer titles are BBC Three originations, while Lily Allen And Friends is now averaging 30,000 unique weekly users to its website. Which is amazing, considering how truly appalling the Lily Allen show is.
