I can’t keep the secret – YES YOU CAN! I took a pair of fully-drained alkaline batteries and put them in a standard Ni-MH battery charger – and it worked! It worked! They charged up and came back from the dead! Look!
I’m still shaking with excitement. The battery industry has been LYING to us for decades – you CAN recharge non-rechargeable alkaline batteries! Staggering developments. I shall be contacting battery companies for official statements regarding this incredible news. I wouldn’t want to be an employee of Duracell right now.

I recharged some reovac non-rechargeable batteries in a reovac batterie charger and left them out for TWO FULL DAYS. Nothing happend to them though. They were reacharged, but they did not leak. It might have been because the charger was also reovac but I was probibly just lucky.

I came home to a terrible chemical smell to my home. I found that my child had put alkaline batteries in the charger. A liquid was formed that irritated and burned my hands when I took them out. Who knows what toxic fumes that we were breathing. The charger is ruined…..$35.00 down the drain. I tend to believe the possibility of a fire or explosion, all you need is a phone call or something else to distract you from leaving it in too long. It is cool that you say it works, but the risk is too great. I see the result of peoples’ mistakes at work way too often—often irreversible and permanent. Not worth a battery.

I tried it an the red lights are flashing, meaning that there is a malfunction. it did not blow up or anything but does not appear to be working for me.

I’ve been regularly recharging the same non-rechargeable size D batteries using the trickle charge from a 12v car battery charger. I charge 3 batteries at once for 15 minutes no longer since the charger heats up. I tried charging 2 batteries and the charger became very hot. So at least 3 size D batteries on charge works okay for me. I just charge them up inside the torch for 15 minutes before I need to use my torch/flashlight. So don’t throw away those old batteries.
That gave me a warm fuzzy feeling inside 🙂

Recharge non-rechargeable batteries…its a completely joke.
I am doing Chemistry A-level, they only recharge because some of the electrons are still left in the solution. they will therefore recharge until barely any electrons are left… try it, charge them, use them, charge them again and repeat, eventually they will no longer recharge. butyet still, it will work 2/3 times therefore no need to spend a fortune on batterys xD

Sorry to dissapoint you but this is old news, the only slight problem is they do frequently leak and destroy your charger or inside your camera/mp3 player

A woman in our lab placed non-rechargeable batteries in the battery charger and the results were not nearly as momentous as those depicted in the video. The batteries in the lab made popping sounds and leaked what I assumed was acid. As for how long ours had “charged”, I have no idea.
Mate you really should get your own comedy show, I was peeing myself laughing on how excited your got over a pair of batteries, Jesus if you give those batteries that much loving what sort of loving would you give a woman.
