Sony has more home theatre systems on the market to match up with our Bravia TV – the DAV-DZ range.

All have a number of features in common, including Bravia Sync, which offers full control of your TV and home cinema with HDMI and a single remote, Digital Cinema Auto Calibration (perfect set-up at the touch of a button), Dialogue Enhancer (clearer speech and lower sound effects), a Digital Media Port for hooking up your external devices, HDMI 1080p upscaling and USB record and playback from ‘ripped’ CDs.

More specifically, the DAV-DZ260 has total output power of 850W and plays DVDs, DVD+/-R/RW discs, CDs, SACDs, DivX and MP3/JPEG files from disc (as well as Windows Media Audio and AAC2 via USB). There are also optical and coaxial digital inputs, HDMI and Scart video outputs are provided, and a front-panel analogue input for portable audio devices.

Also available from May, the DAV-DZ560 uses large standmount/wall-mount speakers for the front left and right channels, with a matching centre speaker designed to complement the styling of the latest Bravia TVs. Again it has a total output power of 850W, will play DVDs, DVD+/-R/RW discs, CDs, SACDs, DivX and MP3/JPEG files from disc (plus Windows Media Audio and AAC2 via USB), and has optical and coaxial digital inputs, plus HDMI and Scart video outputs.

Finally, the DAV-DZ660 uses the same large standmount/wall-mount speakers and matching centre speaker. And there’s that same output of 850W and compatibility with DVDs, DVD+/-R/RW discs, CDs, SACDs, DivX and MP3/JPEG files from disc. Those same optical and coaxial digital inputs plus HDMI and Scart video outputs too.
