Classical musicians gets computer-friendly with the EMS

I don’t even pretend to be a classical music expert, but do occasionally channel surf into the BBC’s Proms coverage, watching as a conductor stumbles onto the stage armed with several volumes of sheet music. A sight that might not last much longer if the EMS catches on.

EMS is E-paper Music Score, effectively E-paper for musicians. Just one flexible screen can be unrolled to feed sheet music via Bluetooth from a computer. And turning a page is as simple as tapping on a foot peddle.

Still a concept right now (courtesy of Serina Sung), but if it takes off, we could have the added bonus of ‘Windows Error’ halting a symphony mid-flight. Which should brighten things up no end.
