More iPhone accessory news comes in the form of JBL’s new On Stage IIIP System, which was announced today at CES. It’s a speaker dock that’s basically the same as previous On Stage models, with one big difference: it works with iPhones.

So, you get a remote control, and a mini stereo jack to hook up music devices NOT made by Apple. The device is also powered by plugging it in, or batteries, so can be taken out and about for picnic choons in the summer. Or, indeed, the winter. If you like having picnics in the winter.

The dock charges your iPhone or iPod when in use, and can be connected to a Mac or PC for the usual synching connectivity. It weighs just one pound, but includes four 6-Watts-per-channel Odyssey transducers. Besides sounding impressive in a classical God stylee, this apparently means flawless sound and deep bass. Nice.

The On Stage IIIP goes on sale next month, for a US retail price of $169.95. We’ll keep you posted on UK pricing and availability.
