If you are short of room for our digital media, the newly-launched LaCie Ethernet Disk Mini Home Edition with a 500GB of storage should make things a little easier.

It’s claimed to be the first commercial device to combine remote access through the Internet, ability to stream multimedia files through DLNA-compatible UPnP media players and act as an iTunes music server. It also includes specialised applications, such as DesktopMirror, that can backup and restore computer files to the device for safekeeping, sharing and remote access.

Expect it from late October for around £159.99.
