Getac has unveiled the P470, which promises security from accident, as well as security for your important data.

The P470 features a magnesium alloy casing for strength without the added weight, as well as a shock mounted HDD and LCD TFT screen, a G-Sensor to protect data from sudden drop or accidents and sealed I/O caps and doors to prevent solid particles and moisture such as dust, rain and spillages from entering the unit. And to protect your data, there’s a Biometric Fingerprint Reader and a Trusted Platform Module (TPM 1.2) that monitors every step, from pre-boot to OS load, to guard against unauthorised tampering.

And it’s also a decent performer, with an Intel Core Duo T7400 2.16GHz processor, up to 4GB RAM, up to 160GB hard drive, Wi-Fi, optional 3G, GPS and Bluetooth, 1.3 megapixel camera, smart card reader and 14.1-inch Hi-Res TFT screen.

Available now, price depends on your choice of specification.
