Dell has announced the latest in its line of XPS notebook PCs, optimised for gaming. The M1730 (aka “The Beast” – no, I don’t make these names up) offers up to an Intel Extreme Edition Core 2 Duo processor, with the ability to overclock in up to 3.2GHz, with an NVIDIA SLI supporting DirectX 10 graphics.

It features a 17-inch widescreen display with TrueLife technology offering 7ms response time and wide viewing angle.

The built-in AGEIA PhysX 100M processor delivers realistic movement and environmental interaction at incredible speeds without degrading overall performance.

In addition, it comes with a Logitech GamePanel LCD panel embedded above the keyboard , and a two megapixel in-built webcam with dual digital array microphones.

It also features up to 4GB of dual channel capable DDR2 SDRAM, choice of solid state or standard hard drives, optional Blu-ray drive, plus mobile broadband option.

Prices start at £1,799 including VAT and delivery.
