It's fun to sue the Y-O-U-T-U-B-E

village-people-sue.jpgLast week we had Prince going a bit mental over his internet rights – now it’s time for wedding party favourites The Village People to try and close down YouTube.

The ‘People’ have employed a man dressed like a lawyer to send desist notices out to YouTube, which is offending them greatly by allowing a Nazi “mash up” of their timeless YMCA video to be uploaded. Not only that, but every time it’s removed trouble-making YouTube users re-upload the same file. Some people.

“Consider that the song’s composers were both Jewish. It’s not funny. It’s stupid and hurtful” said Web Sheriff boss John Giacobbi, of his latest plan to close down chunks of the web.

Giacobbi again makes his point that YouTube seems to be able to filter out porn, but struggles to restrict copyrighted material. It’s probably to do with the amount of pink on display. And the rhythmic movements.
