Nokia’s latest attempt to get into you car is the Nokia 500 Auto Navigation, which offers GPS and the ability to make handsfree calls via a Bluetooth connection with your handset.

The Nokia 500 Auto Navigation is Nokia’s first hybrid in-car navigation/communication device, using a 4.3-inch colour screen a handsfree speaker system with Digital Signal Processing (DSP) for good audio quality. Directions are via Nokia Maps navigation software with the system pre-installed with regional maps offering the usual voice/visual directions, traffic information and points of interest. You can also receive contact details for these places, which you can call directly via your handsfree set-up.

There’s also entertainment, with an integrated music/video player and photo viewer, as well as being able to playback via your car’s FM radio using the built-in transmitter. The Nokia 500 Auto Navigation is expected to be available in selected European markets late this year for approximately 300 Euros.
