Napster is hoping that you’ll be tempted to take out a subscription of its music service if it is stuck on your desktop, trialling such a thing on HP PCs in the UK and Germany.

Under the agreement, all HP Pavilion and Compaq Presario desktop and notebook computers sold in the UK and Germany will include access to Napster’s music subscription service straight out of the box. And you can use it for free for one month before you have to decide if it’s right for you. If it is, you can subscribe for £9.99 per month or £14.95 for Napster To Go service (where you can fill a compatible media player).

“HP is one of the biggest brands in personal computing and to be selected as a pre-load partner in the UK and Germany underlines the value proposition of Napster’s subscription service to consumers,” said Thorsten Schliesche, VP Sales & Marketing Europe. “By pre-loading the Napster software on the latest HP PCs we’re making the world of digital music just a click away and hopefully introducing Napster to people who share our passion for music.”
