Philips has a new Blu-ray player on the market – the BDP7100.

Features include 1080P picture resolution and audio support for Dolby TrueHD and DTS HD High Resolution Audio. There’s also support for native 24fps cinematic resolution input via HDMI and HDMI CEC, which allows the control of other devices with a single remote. Expect it in the coming weeks.

Also announced are three new DVD recorders – DVDR5520H and DVDR5570H hard disk recorders and the DVDR5500 standalone DVD recorder. All are good for both analogue and digital recording, with the DVDR5520H and DVDR5570H equipped with an ‘always-on’ time shift buffer – live TV can be paused and replayed with a single button. The models have 160GB and 250GB drives respectively, plus 1080P upscaling. The DVDR5500 has 1080i upscaling.
