freecom_network_mediaplayer_350_wlan.jpgFreecom has launched the Network MediaPlayer 350 WLAN featuring up to 500GB of storage, and aimed at the consumer with a lot of digital content to share between various devices on a wireless home network.

Featuring a 3.5-inch hard drive, the MediaPlayer is PC and Mac compatible, and can be connected directly to a TV using a HD-DVI or video connection, and to a hi-fi using its standard audio outputs.

When connected to a router, digital content stored on any PC on that network can be accessed and played on a TV. It can also stream music and other content wirelessly, though it’s worth noting that this only works from Windows-based PCs using Windows file sharing. It also has a built-in USB port for playing back content stored on USB memory sticks or hard drives.

It can output up to 1080p high definition content, and supports a plethora of video and audio formats including AVI, WMV, MPEG, MP3, and OGG.

Measuring 57mm x 150mm x 185mm, the device is portable enough to use as a mobile device.

Prices start at £199.99 for a 250GB version, £229.99 for the 400GB model, and £279.99 for the 500GB drive. Alternatively, the kit can be purchased for £139.99, and you supply your own hard drive.
