Disney is going big on technology for teens this year, launching a number of new products, including iPod speakers and LCD TVs, as well as the Disney Flix Video Cam.

Essentially it’s a compact handheld video camera for beginners, loaded with Disney Director software, which lets you shoot and star in your own Disney movie. The software includes storyboards, sound effects, film footage, music and character voices from popular Disney films and TV shows. Just connect the camera to your PC to use the software and film your favourite scenes. High School Musical Disney Director comes pre-loaded, but you can pick up everything from Cinderella to Pirates of the Caribbean.

The camera will be available in the US for $99.99 (around £50), with additional Disney Director titles selling for $14.99 (around £8).
