With all the focus on the new iMac and to a lesser extent iLife 08 and iWork 08, the announcement of an updated .Mac seems to have slipped through with little fanfare.

But there are significant changes, including the debut of the .Mac web gallery for sharing photos and movies on the web and directly from iLife 08, syncing the two together if you wish. Gallery visitors can also download high quality images for printing and add their own images. There’s also a tenfold increase in .Mac storage to 10GB, support for personal domains and widgets (including Google AdSense) for iWeb websites and enhancements to .Mac Mail.

.Mac is available as a subscription-based service for £69 per year for individuals and £120 for a Family Pack which includes one master account and four sub accounts.
