Pentax launches Optio M40 8 megapixel camera

Pentax has unveiled the Optio M40, an 8 megapixel camera in a slim casing just 18mm deep and in a choice of three colours – silver, purple or bronze.

All the expected features are here, including Digital SR (Shake Reduction) for reduced blurring, Face Recognition AF&AE for improved focus and exposure when taking ‘people’ shots, an Auto Picture mode for the best setting dependent on the conditions, 3x optical zoom and a 2.5-inch LCD screen.

Also included is Movie SR (Shake Reduction), 21.9MB of built-in memory and red-eye correction function for flash shots. Available in the coming weeks, no news of price as yet.
