miuro-ipod-robot.jpgIf you’ve got a keen memory, you might remember our story about the Miuro robot which promised to turn your iPod into a “dancing boombox on wheels”.

It’s basically an egg-shaped robot that follows you round the house, playing tunes from your iPod which is docked with the device. Anyway, we mentioned back then that it was due to go on sale outside Japan in the second half of 2007.

Well, it’s popped up early on AudioCubes.com, where you can buy the Miuro for $999 (about £500, and yes, the site does ship worldwide). The bot can also act as a wireless speaker for your PC.
