How many megapixels do you need? If you’re an average user, certainly nowhere near the 12 that feature in Kodak’s Z1275, which has just launched alongside the 7-megapixel ZD710.

The Z1275 has a 1/1.72-inch CCD, 5x Schneider-Kreuznach Variogon optical zoom lens, 2.5-inch LCD and the ability to record ability to record 1280 x 720 video in MPEG-4 format. The ZD710 has 10x optical zoom, 2-inch LCD, a high ISO for snapping in dim light and Digital Image Stabilization.

Both launch in August 2007. As yet, we have no confirmed price.
