Colonic irrigation made easy with the self-guiding colonoscope

Okay, so doctors hardly need satnav to figure out where to stick the business end of a colonoscope when giving a patient colonic irrigation. But German firm Invendo Medical has neverthless invented a ‘self-driving’ colonoscope, which doesn’t even need to be pushed up where the sun don’t shine.

In other words, the doctor just sits there guiding the hose bit using a joystick (could someone turn this into a PS3 game?), while the patient can enjoy their sphincter-cleansing without need for sedation, as the machine’s ‘inverted sleeve’ technology puts less pressure on their colon wall.

Soon every celebrity will have one. Possibly.
