There’s a new BlackBerry heading to a network near you – the BlackBerry Curve 8300 smartphone – so called, because of its slightly curved shape. It’s also the smallest and lightest full QWERTY BlackBerry.

The BlackBerry Curve with liquid silver finish and chrome highlights is a fully – featured smartphone with a full QWERTY keyboard and large display – but still comes in at 4.2′ x 2.4′ x 0.6 inches and weighs just 3.9 ounces. The 320×240 display includes RIM’s light sensing technology that automatically adjusts backlighting levels for indoor, outdoor and dark environments and the handset has the usual trackball navigation.

Features include a two megapixel camera with 5x digital zoom and flash, Bluetooth (and Bluetooth streaming), audio and video player with integrated speaker and media management via Roxio Media Manager for BlackBerry. There’s also Roxio Photosuite 9 LE included for editing your snaps. Storage is currently up to 2GB via microSD card, but this will be increased to 4GB when the increased capacities appear later this year.

And there’s web browsing, RSS functionality, a fully-featured phone and the expected email and messaging capabilities – but now with a spellchecker thrown in.

The BlackBerry Curve will be available from a range of providers in the coming weeks. Check with your preferred network operator for pricing.
