Formac has introduced the disk mini USB2 external storage device, taking up a small amount of desk space, but offering up to 160GB of storage.

For your money, you get the extra storage space in a small black case, along with a shock absorption system to protect against an accidental drop. Connectivity is via USB (although you can use firewire of you prefer, but you’ll need to buy your own cable), with no power supply needed, as the power is also pumped in through the USB cable.

It’s good for both Mac and PC and available now, with a price tag of £59.99.
