Flash Survivor – the drop-proof USB drive

Flash drives do two things – store your data and fall on the floor at unexpected times. This new 8GB Flash Survivor drive from Corsair takes that into account – and promises to protect your drive from the associated data loss.

The Flash Survivor is water-resistant to 200 metres and covered in a CNC (Computer Numerical Control) milled aluminum – the same metal that’s used in planes. There’s also shock-resistance thanks to a moulded rubber collar shielding.

It comes pre-loaded with 256bit AES encryption and offers a read/write speed of up to 34MB/sec. The drive retails for $130 (around £70).
