BT Broadband is UK's favourite – or rather, more people use it

BT is Britain’s biggest broadband provider, taking the lead from the previous top dog – Virgin Media and NTL: Telewest’s combined user base.

The company currently boasts 3.66 million broadband customers, giving it an impressive 26 per cent share of the overall broadband market. In the last quarter, it picked up 245,000 customers, along with 195,000 customers gained through BT’s recent acquisition of PlusNet.

It all gives it a sound base for its BT Vision service, which is currently being plugged to death on just about every form of media. That download service is free to BT Broadband customers, aside from the connection fees.
