Acer has unveiled its 5920 range of laptops, featuring a “gemstone” design that’s supposedly inspired by nature.

The 5920 range uses Intel’s ‘Santa Rosa’ Centrino Duo platform, with a variety of Core 2 Duo processors, Intel’s 802.11n-compatible Wi-Fi card and up to 2GB of DDR 2 memory.

Depending on your choice of machine, the series features Intel’s TurboMemory Flash cache for faster start-up, 80-200GB hard drive, a five-in-one card reader, ExpressCard 54 slot, Firewire port, four USB ports, HDMI and a choice of HD DVD drive or DVD burner. The 15.4-inch displays are driven by Nvidia’s GeForce 8600M GT graphics chip with 256MB of dedicated graphics memory and sound is via two stereo speakers and an on-board sub-woofer using Dolby Home Theater.

We know all that, but we don’t know the pricing as yet.
