Why Tony Blair's YouTube channel doesn't hit the mark

mrtonyonyoutube.jpgYou can’t be a modern politician without being Web 2.0 friendly. Hot on the heels of David Cameron’s Webcameron site, the Labour Party has now jumped into bed with YouTube to launch the Labourvision channel.

Trouble is, most of the videos are still ministers blathering to camera in traditional party political broadcast style. However, the most interesting thing about Labourvision isn’t the videos posted by the politicians. It’s the responses – text and video-based – from the very voters they’re trying to engage with.
