Another week, another GPS system – this time from TomTom, which has launched the One XL, with a 4.3-inch wide touch screen.

It has everything you would expect from a standard system, with the usual directions and points on interest functionality. Over and above, it features access to traffic information via an RDS-TMC traffic receiver accessory or a subscription to TomTom Traffic and access to TomTom Home, which allows users to manage, download, store and transfer content from their computer onto their TomTom device.

It’s set for a May launch, with two versions available in the UK – TomTom One XL for UK and Ireland, which retails for £249 (including safety camera data), and the TomTom One XL for Western Europe at £279 (including safety cameras).

  • The TomTom ONE XL sounds great! All the advantages of the original ONE but with a wider screen allowing for consumers to see more of the road ahead and whatever obstacles there may be such as turns, traffic, etc. I can’t wait to take one out for a test ride
