Could Twitter help prevent another Virginia Tech massacre?

virginia.jpgFollowing the terrible shootings at Virginia Tech in the US this week, discussion is already turning to whether poor communication within the university’s campus could have contributed to the scale of the massacre. Could micro-blogging technologies like Twitter help in future? It’s already being suggested as a way to quickly spread urgent security messages through an academic community.

In other Twitter news, Edelman PR has had a spat with PC Magazine, after one of the PR firm’s bloggers posted a tweet saying he files the mag straight in the bin every month. Meanwhile, the wider Twittersphere is caught between excitement and boredom about Apple’s upcoming iPhone.
