Apple might keep boosting the capacity of iPods, but according to new research, that’s not necessarily what we want – we actually want a radio on-board.

US consultancy Jacobs Media initiated polls on 69 radio stations’ websites last month, pulling in a response from 25,000 people. According to the results, around 33 per cent of people want an FM tuner in their next player, rising to 43 per cent of iPod owners. But remember – these were polls on radio station websites.

The survey also found that 24 per cent of media player customers wanted more storage capacity, seven per cent want a bigger screen, the same number want video playback and three per cent want their play to shrink in size.
