40 years on – the cash point gets a makeover with the Max Box

The first cash point opened for business in June 1967 – and hasn’t changed a great deal since. Until now that is, with the introduction of the Max Box from the Felix Group.

It’s a two-screen ATM offering just about everything you might need in a hurry, positioned in a variety of public spaces. A bit like a digital shop. As an example, you can print photos, order flowers for next-day delivery, play interactive Sudoku (you perhaps don’t need to be in a hurry for that one), top up your phone or download content for it.

It’s also a digital jukebox with around three million tracks to download and if the venue owner wants it, the Max Box can even operate as a free Wi-Fi spot. The boxes were trialled successfully last year, so expect to see a big roll-out of them in the coming weeks in retail, leisure and licensed premises.
