Japan’s NTT DoCoMo has partnered with McDonald’s to allow patrons to pay for their fast food with their mobiles. If this is successful, it’s expected to expand to other Japanese offerings. A similar project to allow UK train goers to buy rail tickets from YourRail allows you to buy a ticket online, which generates a bar code that goes in your mobile. Your mobile can then be scanned at the rail station, cutting out the ticket entirely. [GT]
