Now call me a cynic, but that seems like a remarkably low figure to me. Just four in ten American 10-17 year-olds say they’ve seen pornography on the internet, according to a survey conducted by the University of New Hampshire. Two thirds of those say they hadn’t been looking for adult content at the time.

The survey has already spawned a bunch of ‘PORN ASSAULTS KIDS’ stories, based on the report’s claim that teenagers are happening across adult websites via mis-typed web addresses, pop-up ads and spam emails.

But the alternative reading of the results is that either 58% of teenagers are more morally upstanding than their reputation, or they’re just fibbers shy when an adult rings them up and asks if they’ve been pointing their browser at nekkid stuff recently.
