dvd.jpg 5px; float: left;” />Fancy having the quality of HDTV but don’t want to fork out hundreds for a new TV? Never fear, because Marantz is here. They’ve just launched the DV7001, a DVD player capable of upscaling normal standard DVDs to 720p and 1080i high definition (not sure what that means? Click here for a hilarious explanation involving Oompa Loompas and Hobbits), which is apparently comparable to all the HD-DVD and Blu-Ray players we’ve been seeing of late. Not only that, but it also plays CDs, DVD-R/RW, DivX, MP3, WMA, and JPeg formats, ensuring you’ll never have a dull moment at your house. It’s a little pricey, at £599, but when you consider it’s not just a normal DVD player, but one that can upscale to HD, that’s mighty impressive stuff, from the house of Marantz.
