CES 2007: Sony unveils DCR-SR32E, DCR-SR52E, DCR-SR72E, DCR-SR190E and DCR-SR290E Handycam models

More movie kit from Sony. Following on from the HDR-HC7E and HC5E HDV models comes a new range of HDD camcorders – the DCR-SR32E, DCR-SR52E, DCR-SR72E, DCR-SR190E and DCR-SR290E models.

Capacities vary from 30GB to 60GB – the top-end more than any other camcorder on the market says Sony, with the ability to store up to 41 hours 50 minutes of video or 9,999 still pictures. And like the HDR-HC7E and HC5E, they also feature Sony’s InfoLITHIUM, offering up to 10 hours continuous shooting from a single charge.

The new models, which feature Carl Zeiss optics, include an impressive 40x optical zoom range, increased wide angle performance (by 20 per cent), Crash Protection to protect your purchase, a Handycam Station for easy connection to a TV or PC, faster one-touch burning and on the higher-end models (SR190E/SR290E), Sony’s ClearVid CMOS Sensor and upgraded still imaging to 6MP, plus Super SteadyShot Optical Image Stabilisation (SR290E only). The SR290E and SR190E also feature a high resolution (211k pixels) 2.7-inch Wide Clear Photo LCD screen
