Adobe releases Flash Player 9 for Linux

flashlogo.gifLinux fans rejoice… Adobe have announced that version 9 of their Flash player is now available for the popular open source operating system, and brings it into line with the Windows and Mac OS X versions.

New features in this release include efficient memory utilisation, advanced graphics, text and video features, plus the ActionScript Virtual Machine that allows up to 10 times faster scripting performance.

In other words, it’s better, particularly for all that Web 2.0 stuff we all love so much.

Available now as a free download from Adobe.
