h2onano.jpgH2O Audio, well-known for their waterproof products for iPod and other MP3 players have announced the availability of their ‘Outdoor’ durable case for both the first and second generation iPod nanos.

H2O say that their new Outdoor housing is sleeker and of a lighter weight than its waterproof counterpart, and has been designed by adventure sport enthusiasts to give the sort of protection that extreme sports and fitness nuts require.

“We designed our new ‘Outdoor’ housing in response to customer demand and to help everyone expand their outdoor experience by combining their passion for action with their love of music,” said Kristian Rauhala, CEO of H2O Audio. “Built to protect both the Gen 1 and new Gen 2 nano players, our ‘Outdoor’ housing matches the nanos streamlined style and provides rugged, durable protection that enables nano players to be used for the widest range of land-based activities possible.”

Presumably the doctored image to the left shows the kind of things you can now get up to safe in the knowledge that your precious nano and music collection will keep on playing – anything from extreme snow sports to a darn hard aerobic workout. Hmm…

The case is impact and element resistant and has a patented Commander Scroll Wheel which allows full control of the nano’s click wheel even whilst wearing gloves. A locking slider system is designed to keep the player safe and closed upon an impact, and the dock is compatible with the Nike and iPod Sport Kit.

It comes with a removable belt clip and a sport armband, and supports the use of most standard headphones.

It costs $39.95 and should be available in the UK from selected stockists, price to be confirmed.
