sharpxvz21000.jpgBack in August over at HDTV we briefly mentioned Sharp’s new XV-Z21000 1080p projector but had very few details or a UK release date. Sharp have now spilled the beans and given us much more information about this high-end video projector.

Iit’s full 1080p high definition (1920×1080 resolution), with 12,000:1 contrast ratio, 1,000 lumens brightness, a high-performance long-life DLP (Digital Light Processing) chip, 3,000 hour lamp, 1.35x manual zoom lens, switchable aspect ratio (4:3 and 16:9), 2 HDMI inputs plus 1 DVI-I input, as well as 2x component, S-Video and composite inputs.

It also features a vertical lens shift function for adjusting the projection angle. It can project an image up to 100 inch diagonal in size from just 4.1m away thanks to its 1.35x optical zoom, and has a projection size range of 40 to a massive 300 inches.

The projector’s DLP® technology ensures the entire optical system of the XV-Z21000 is sealed against dust and smoke, meaning a longer service life and reducing maintenance costs.

The unit weighs 9.4kg and comes with a backlit remote control.

It will usually retail for around £7000 but is currently available for £5,999 from the Sharp website during the Stuff Show.
