LG's 100-inch LCD TV goes into production – at a price

We’ve covered LG’s 100-inch LCD screen previously – on its appearance at this year’s CeBit to be precise, where it raised a few eyebrows, but with no indication of it going into production. Wrong – it is heading to the stores, with a price tag of at least $150,000 (£78,587).

LG’s 100-inch TV is the world’s biggest LCD and could set a record for the biggest retail price too. The $150,000 is apparently just a production price, so add a profit margin. And of course, there’s delivery. The bottom-line price is anyone’s guess. LG aren’t saying just yet.

But if your lottery numbers have come up, you’ll get 1080p HD and 1.07bn different hues at a 3000:1 contrast ratio, along with a 180° viewing angle and a 5ms response time for your money. Personally, I’d prefer a new sports car.
