Back in July, we reported that a number of Skype-friendly VoIP phones were set to hit the market. Well, one of them – the Belkin WiFi phone – is now about to launch in the UK.

Like all Wi-Fi phones, the Belkin model is another attempt to take VoIP away from the PC and into the wider home, operating even when the PC is turned off (but obviously, while your Wi-Fi connection is still on) with all your Skype information and functionality available on the phone’s screen. It also works in conjunction with any security you might have on your wireless connection and can be used out of the home, in a wireless hotspot.

It’s available from October 30th for £100.
